Body tissues are continually undergoing a change of structure and the multitude of cells that make up the body are constantly dying off, while fresh material is supplied, this body building materials comes only from the food one eats. While our yogi’s placed great importance on diet, it is in the last few years, the western scientists & physicians have paid attention to this subject

Recent researches on diet has proved that,

“A change in diet can not only cure and prevent diseases, but also prolong humAn life”

It also changes the character of a person.

This diet modulation, now-a-days plays very important role in all therapies, but from ancient time “YOGA and DIET” are always interrelated. Without proper diet, Yogic practices fails & without proper practice & yoga, diet is not exactly suitable for the body.

YOGA

Yoga is “RIGHT LIVING”. This definition may appear to be simple, but really it is very significant, for the meaning of right living is very wide. It aims at the harmonious development of the body, mind and soul. It is the tuning away of senses from the objective universe and the concentration of mind within. The practice of yoga helps to control the emotions and passions and gives power to resist temptations and to remove disturbing elements from the mind

There are 8 limbs in yoga according to “PATANJALI” maharishi

a) Yama

b) Niyama

c) Asana

d) Pranayama

e) Prathiyahara

f) Dharana

g) Dhyana

h) Samadhi

To attain the 8th stage, one not only practices yoga, but also should be strict in their diet. Though, as already said yoga and diet are always inter-related.
